LEVEL DESIGN WORKSHOP

Hello World

Well, hello there and thanks for dropping in to visit my new website! This is my second attempt at setting up a virtual space to showcase my creations: my first website, AoELastResort, went offline in 2010 after five years of activity. AoELR was solely dedicated to my Age of Empires campaigns, it contained a bunch of map design articles, and it allowed for some interactivity thanks to a fancy guestbook: it was definitely a fun experience, and it even enjoyed some limited popularity among AoE fans of that period.

Over the following years, as I started to develop custom content for Quake II and StarCraft, I felt the needing to regain a web space which was totally mine, and now I've finally overcome procrastination. Just like AoELR, this website runs on a free hosting service which has many limitations (see the FAQ for further details) but it's more than enough for my needs. As a bonus, I've added a section dedicated to my early programming experiences with the venerable Commodore 64, a section that will grow as I have time to recover more programs and tranfer them to my PC (I wish i could have included my Amiga software, but sadly those 3.5" disks are lost forever). Hopefully I'll have time to post occasional articles on this blog, which primarily will serve as a space to promote my forthcoming works and share tips, good practices, experiences, and lessons learned throughout the years. If you have a question regarding Level Design, or if you need assistance with one of my maps, just drop me a comment or contact me. I'm always happy to help you guys out, and love being able to contribute something creative to the Internet.

Not much else to say for now, I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, whatever the severity of your lockdown may be.
